Our final goodby is a Sketch made by Sophie.
This is a sketch made for a layout so I had to trim it up a little so it would fit into a 5x7 card. My granddaughter, Trinity, will be turning 12 the end of this month so this card was made for her.
Today at Blog Tiffinay we were to make a card or LO using our favorite manufacturer. Everyone that knows me very well knows that I don't really have favorites and I buy what is on sale most of the time. I like what works for me at the moment.

This card is mostly made using Colorbok papers and embellishments. I actually won all of this paper and embellishments, called the English Moss collection, off of a facebook contest. Maybe I should say that my favorite manufacturer is the one that wants to share their product with me for FREE!

Stop by Blog Tiffiny to see what others have chosen for their favorites.
I won this paper pad and love all the beautiful florals it has in it. I folded the coner down and exposed paper that I embossed with my Cuttlebug. I found the lace at the Creating Keepsake convention that I attended in Portland, OR. I really wish I would have picked up a lot more because I really love it. The sentiment is a rub on and the heart charm was another purchase at the Creating Keepsake convention.Kayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16915420453418830603noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4035937469637908805.post-21154241665504068072011-04-14T19:45:00.000-07:002011-04-14T19:45:14.064-07:00Using Stamps

Yesterday my grandson, Jude, had his 7th birthday. We took him out to lunch and shopping. We wandered around Toys R Us for a while before he picked out two sets of Lego that he has had his eye on. This year we have started this new tradition of taking the grandkids out to lunch and shopping and we have had so much fun with them. We get one on one time with them and they get what they really want for a birthday present.

I picked up this set of cute little kids at an Angel Co. party and I colored him with Copic markers. He is holding a frog in his hands and I added a little Stickles to it to bring it out. I don't know where I got this frog stamp, I think it was a hand me down, but it fit the page so well. The frog is also colored with Copic markers and dotted with Stickles.
Scrap Tiffany is having a blog hop and the theme is Recycling! If you just arrived at my blog you will want to start at the beginning of the hop at Scrap Tiffany. I know you will not want to miss any of the great projects presented by the design team. If you arrived from Katie's blog, Scissors Spatulas and Sneakers, you are in the right place to follow along.

For my recycled project I started by going to our local Goodwill store. I was lucky enough to find two, plain brown, paper mache bunnies for 99 cents. I scooped them up and thought what a great Easter project. I stopped by the LSS and picked out two different patterned light weight paper because I thought it would work best for this project and also another bottle of Mod Podge.

I tore both pieces of paper into strips and then tore it again into smaller pieces. I laid down wax paper over my table and then pained the pieces with the Mod Podge and applied it to the paper mache bunnies. I alternated the paper around to give the bunny some dimention. After it dryed I used distress ink and the Tim Holtz blending tool and gave everything a little distressed look.

I wanted to embelish them a little so on one bunny I added a piece of lace and applied it too with Mod Podge. I used Rhinestones from my stash on both bunnies. I felt that they needed a little pastel color so found little pastel colored buttons and applied them and black buttons for eyes.

I let them play outside for a while when the sun was out before bringing them indoors for my center piece on my dining room table. The branches for my Easter egg tree are recycled too. Last year I noticed my neighbor had trimmed one of his trees and all these branches were piled in a small trailer. I just had to go over and ask if I could have a few. Of course, he thought I was crazy for wanting them. I think for next year they will get white spray paint put on them.

Beauty is the theme for today at Scrap Tiffany. I think of a butterfly when I think of beauty. The changes it goes through to become the beauty it will be. So colorful and graceful in it's mature body.

The butterfly is cut from the Tim Holtz Die, Fanciful Flight. I embossed the lacy out side layer to give it some more dimention. On the body I used black puff paint and added just a pinch of gold glitter. I tore the three sides of the front cover in all layers. The inside of the card was covered with the darker patterend paper so that it would show through when the card is closed which added to the lacy layers.

"A Beautiful Life" is a sticker that I put onto chipboard to give it more strength and dimention.
I have a grandson and a granddaughter that have played ball and another grandson that will start his first year of T-Ball this year. This set really caught my eye because it had both girls and boys. I colored the image with Copic markers with help from my grandson, Nolan, on what colors everything should be. I made the baseball by sewing the stitching on (not a very good baseball stitcher) and then gluing the cardstock circle onto chipboard. I then added Diamond Glaze on top and let it dry overnight.
I have a lot to celebrate this week and this card was made for my husband. He is my forever Valentine on the 14th. Our anniversary is Feb. 15th and we are celebrating 13 years together. To top it off, his birthday on Feb 17th. Yes, he planned the wedding date so it was easy for him to remember. Still, he can never remember how many years we have been married. He finally framed the marriage license and hung it in our bedroom so he can quickly check it out.

I have always loved red and black together for a guys Valentine. I used regular foil to frame the black card stock. I had the grungeboard hearts in my stash and and ran them both through my Cuttlebug and then used red distress ink on them. I then dipped the edges into black embossing powder to give them an edge that stands out a bit. I wrapped the hearts with wire adding beads and twisted the wire.

The bead letters make the sentiment for the card and the lower ones are framed in a metal frame held onto the card with heart brads. I got the little silver metal hearts with a bundh of eyelets and brads at a garage sale last summer. Even though it is a guys card I added lace to highlight the hearts so they stand out a little more.

Check out Scrap Tiffany for more inspiration when using Metal and Wire.
It was 81 degrees every morning and only rose up to around 85 so the weather was perfect. I totally froze on Monday all day. I think I finally have gotten used to the 40/50 degrees here now.

St. Thomas was great and got a new David Yurman bracelet. I really love his designs.
My husband walks around the house looking for the buffet line and the Chocolate Melting Cake. I don't know how I'm going to go from 12,000 calories to the normal 1,200 that I should be eating. We are already looking into where we want to go next. This was our second cruise to the E. Caribbean and I would go back again anytime. It is always a little challanging to use a scrapbook layout sketch and fit it all on to a card but I always love a challange.

For the life of me I can't figure out how he could possibly be that old. This is his birthday card. As everyone that follows my blog has probably figured out by now I'm not good at listing all the different papers and punches that I use. I don't have a favorite manufacturer and I have never been a name dropper for anything. I like the paper that fits my fancy at the time. If I'm going to scraplift from someone else I'm not going to use the same paper they do anyway.

I hope AJ likes his card but he is a guy that will enjoy what is inside the card much more than the card itself.Kayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16915420453418830603noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4035937469637908805.post-58986530115647680122010-12-31T23:55:00.000-08:002010-12-31T23:55:00.426-08:00Scraplift From A New Design Team Member
This is the card I used for my scraplift. I matched it with some cardstock in the same color and added a little Graphic 45 paper scallop. The large snowflake I picked up a while back in Big Lots because it just looked like a great embellishment for a snowy card. The other snowflakes I cut on my Cricut Expression. On the small snowflake I put on gems with my iRock and then added some matching glitter. For the embellishments in the upper right corner I dotted Stickles in brown and added the dew drops on top giving them a little glitter and brown color.

Thanks, Brenda, for a great card to scraplift!
Kayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16915420453418830603noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4035937469637908805.post-34149508680873655802010-12-26T17:57:00.000-08:002010-12-26T17:57:13.534-08:00Goodbye 2010

This week we are saying goodbye to 2010 and ringing in 2011 at Scrap Tiffany. This card design was scraplifted, but for the life of me I can't find out who the original designer was. While I am blog hopping I like to save cards that catch my eye. I have a file set up for "Cute Card Ideas" and in the beginning I didn't save any information with the picture. Since I waited until the last minute to make this card it is a simple card but it still took some time to make. I love the Zebra stripe paper and have used it mostly on girly cards. I'm not sure where I'll find more of it because this was the last of it.

I cut the lettering from Cricut's Lyrical Letters which is one of my newer cartridges. The exclimation mark is chipboard covered with the Zebra stripe paper. I've had this felt flower in my stash for a long time and it just seemed to fit the card.Kayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16915420453418830603noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4035937469637908805.post-19137530528747995562010-12-05T23:35:00.000-08:002010-12-05T23:35:00.364-08:00Handmade Flowers
Today at Scrap Tiffany we are making Handmade Flowers. This time of year I am very busy making scrapbooks for my children and their families. I use filler pages that are 8x8 and each family gets five pages which makes 10 scrapbook LO's. On this LO I have used tag holders cut from Cricuts Tags, Bags and Boxes cartridge and in each one holds the grandkids Christmas List handwritten by them. I decorated them with Distress Inks and added a lot of bling with my new I-Rock tool which I just love.

The large handmade flower was cut using the Sizzix die Flower #3. The top and middle were changed by cutting off one peddle and gluing it back together which giving it more dimention. The second flower was made by wetting down a chipboard flower that was flat. By wetting it down I was able to peel the layers apart giving it a lot of layering. I then used distress ink along with the Tim Holtz blending tool to give it some color and also leaving some of it naked.

The centers on both flowers are Apholstery Tacks that I picked up at the department store and cut the sharp back off and glued onto the flower.
I've seen so many recipes for pumpkin this and pumpkin that and the conflict to put mini marshmellows on the sweet pototes or leave them off.

A family favorite in my family is Broccoli Salad. I've made this so many times and still always get requests to make it again. The difference from the deli bought salad and mine is that instead of using raisens I use dried cranberries. So today at Scrap Tiffany we needed to create around Recipes and Food.
Everyones project will be on the blogs listed below. It's called a Recipe Challenge, because each Challenge Blog is adding one ingredient to the mix.

Here is who's participating, and what they added to the "recipe."

1. Sassy Lil' Sketches---The Sketch

2. scrapFIT--We want you to use 3 of the same thing on your LO. (3 buttons, 3 ribbons, 3 brads)

3. Crop Suey---We want you to use ink, paint or mist or all 3.

4. scraptiffany---We want to see some LACE.

5. Cuttlebug Spot---We want to see some texture or embossing.

Here is my entry for this hop. You know you can always tell a scrapbooker from others. They are the ones that are taking pictures instead of grabbing their grandson up from drinking water from the dogs bowl. I quit, a long time ago, asking the question, "what are you going to do next"?

I am so glad that you have joined me along this journey. If by chance this is your first stop, hop back to Scrap Tiffany to start at the beginning. You don't want to miss any of the Scrap Tiffany Design Teams great holiday projects.

For my project I have chosen to make package tags. Tags are so much fun to make. You can add as much or as little as you like. They can be simple or more complex.

This first tag is my favorite! The tag is cut from Tags, Bags and Boxes Cricut Cartridge. I topped the tag with red and green papers and embellished the line between the papers with black lace and lime green pom poms. The snowman is cut from last years seasonal Cricut cartridge Snow Friends and I used white iridescent embossed paper to give them some sparkle. Some cute tiny buttons tied with black floss run along the side. I cut two little tags using a Martha Stewart punch and stamped them with To and From and they were tied on top with the tag ribbon.

The second tag was also cut from Tags, Bags and Boxes Cricut Cartridge. I ran it through my Cuttlebug with a Tim Holtz embossing folder. Then, using distress inks, gave it a little color. The dew drops were clear and I colored them red with a Copic marker. To and From was made with a label maker and done!

The third tag is cut on my own to show that you don't need anything special to make tags. I stamped a sentiment and once again used one of the snowmen. I found these cute little doilies the other day and it was perfect for this tag. I added some bling using my IRock tool. (love it!)

This last tag was cut out using the Cricut Cartridge Accent Essentials. I stamped the snowman (Stampn Up)and colored it with Copic markers and then cut it out. Tore off a piece of white cardstock and added glitter for the snow. Halloween is such a fun holiday with all the excitement from the kids and so many things to use for decorating. This week at Scrap Tiffany Halloween is the focus. I made this card by cutting out the "BOO" with my cricut and embossing with cuttlebug. I then used distress inks to give it some color.

I like using googlie eyes and put them in the dark pumpkin patch.

Kayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16915420453418830603noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4035937469637908805.post-32943050326281274462010-10-18T14:15:00.000-07:002010-10-18T14:15:18.908-07:00Love To Create!Scrap Tiffany's design team this week made banners. I had to really give this one a thought because I'm not one to take pictures of just scenery. I then remembered out great cruise to the Caribbean in 2008. I knew I had to have scenery pictures in there. Of course I had great expectations of making a book with all of these photos but it never got even started.

On our excursions in Tortola we went to see The Baths in Virgin Gorda. It was amazing! These huge bolders are sprinkled along the beach. There is a path through the bolders and we followed our guide, climbing up, over and around, from one beach to another.

We are returning to Tortola in January 2011 on another Caribbean cruise. This time we are taking an excursion on a boat that will go back to this same area so we can see it from the sea and snorkel around these great bolders.

I cut the letters out on my Cricut and applied glitter but not covering the whole letter. I really like how they turned out. Less Is Better!Kayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16915420453418830603noreply@blogger.com1
